Good advice from Saint Teresa of Avila

Let nothing disturb you.
Let nothing frighten you.
All things are passing away.
God never changes.
Patience obtains all things.
Whoever has God lacks nothing.
God alone suffices.

Forgiveness prayer...

Forgive, Faultless Lord, enduring death for me,
You have consummated the debt of my sins:
Your sacrifice of forgiveness was absolute!
Grant me the strength to also forgive others, To excuse their transgressions against me. So I may truly reflect this spiritual fruit, Obliterate any persistent feelings of malice. Let each trespass end as a closing chapter, My continuing on the road of righteousness. Forgive my sins as I aspire to forgive others. You are truly archetypical of forgiveness.
You are a most forgiving Lord Jesus!

Battle Against Evil (Ephesians 6:10-17)

Finally, draw your strength from the Lord and from his mighty power. Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm against the tactics of the devil. For our struggle is not with flesh and blood but with the principalities, with the powers, with the world rulers of this present darkness, with the evil spirits in the heavens. Therefore, put on the armor of God, that you may be able to resist on the evil day and, having done everything, to hold your ground. So stand fast with your loins girded in truth, clothed with righteousness as a breastplate, and your feet shod in readiness for the gospel of peace. In all circumstances, hold faith as a shield, to quench all [the] flaming arrows of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

This reminds me of a book I just started by Paul Thigpen, "Manual for Spiritual Warfare."

A Sacred Heart Prayer

Hail! O Sacred Heart of Jesus, living and quickening source of eternal life, infinite treasure of the Divinity, and burning furnace of divine love. Thou art my refuge and my sanctuary, O my amiable Savior. Consume my heart with that burning fire with which Thine is ever inflamed. Pour down on my soul those graces which flow from Thy love, and let my heart be so united with Thine, that our wills may be one, and mine in all things, be conformed to Thine. May Thy divine will be equally the standard and rule of all my desires and of all my actions.

Book of Psalm, Chapter 51, Verse 3

Have mercy on me, God, in accord with your merciful love;
in your abundant compassion blot out my transgressions.

Saint Francis de Sales ... a prayer of encouragement

Be at Peace
 Do not look forward in fear to the changes of life;
 rather look to them with full hope as they arise.
 God, whose very own you are,
 will deliver you from out of them.
 He has kept you hitherto,
 and He will lead you safely through all things;
 and when you cannot stand it,
 God will bury you in his arms.
Do not fear what may happen tomorrow;
 the same everlasting Father who cares for you today
 will take care of you then and everyday.
 He will either shield you from suffering,
 or will give you unfailing strength to bear it.
 Be at peace,
 and put aside all anxious thoughts and imagination.

The Compassion of Jesus. (Matthew 9:35-38)

Jesus went around to all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and curing every disease and illness. At the sight of the crowds, his heart was moved with pity for them because they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep without a shepherd.  Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.”

Prayer to Saint Thérèse of Lisieux for Guidance

Image of  Saint Thérèse of Lisieux

Govern by all Thy Wisdom, O Lord, so that my soul may always be serving Thee as Thou dost Will, and not as I may choose. Do not punish me, I beseech Thee, by granting that which I wish or ask if it offended Thy Love, which would always live in me. Let me die to myself, so that I may love Thee. Let me live to Thee, Who art in Thyself, the True Life.

Another favorite prayer of mine...

I didn't know this but this prayer can be recited after receiving holy communion.

The Amina Christi

Soul of Christ, sanctify me;
Body of Christ, save me;
Blood of Christ, inebriate me;
Water from the side of Christ, wash me;
Passion of Christ, strengthen me;
O good Jesus, hear me;
within Your wounds, hide me;
let me never be separated from You;
from the evil one, protect me;
at the hour of my death, call me;
and bid me come to You;
that with Your saints, I may praise You forever and ever.

Here is a Wikipedia article giving some more background about the prayer.

Something to start your day out with...

A Morning Prayer

Dear Lord Jesus,
Wash away this morning any feelings of fear, anger, confusion that I may have.  Make me clear sighted with dignity in the name of You, my Holy Ruler, Jesus.  May my day be bright and filled with love and compassion for others and let me surrender to You, Jesus, on this day.
Be with me today.  I beg You to put me on the right path for ths day.

Personal revelations defined.

I came across this last night and found it very interesting.  It discusses the concept of revelation in the context of having one from God that just might align a person in one way or the other with one's journey with the Lord.

The article is from The New Advent.  A good reference point for Catholics and those who have an interest in religion.
